The cooling towers found on the roofs of many large industrial plants and large shopping centres, release watery micro-particles into the surrounding atmosphere, which often contain high levels of bacteria and in particular Legionella bacteria. This pollution, released from a high position, can spread across hundreds of metres or even a distance of kilometres from its point of origin, putting the health of those living in the area at risk.
It is, therefore, necessary to introduce products capable of preventing bacteria fallout phenomena and prevent scalings on the exchange surfaces that reduce the heat efficiency and encourage the adhesion of a thick biofilm to the walls.
The products used must, therefore, be effective against bacteria, algae and scalings while at the same time, harmless to people and non-corrosive for the materials that constitute the cooling towers.
